Geneva Franks - class of 1994 - a product designer in the 2nd year of the European Institute of Des

Came second but have received compliments from all the judges. Probably pagoda Geneva Franks, Bands Marco and Davide Piersanti, students pagoda of the IED in Milan, presented by Andrea Tosi, are ready to be placed in a design studio un'anzienda kitchens.
The challenge of the project was to design a kitchen that was sensitive to environmental issues and the needs of man. The result was Essentia, a kitchen 100% recyclable, in which was used the least possible amount of material. Each functional element has been designed to best fit the needs of the kitchen and the man, who is no longer seen as just a place of culinary creation, but also for socializing and sharing. Consequently Essentia reveals and conceals, pagoda by becoming an integral part of the operational area in the living room, creating a unique atmosphere that knows how to impress guests. Essentia follows the user to every need thanks to the extended plane of the island. The plan allows you to slide the drawers below, which disvelano be opened without tools thanks to the switch internal glass - a glass that makes the surface from opaque to completely transparent. In the kitchen there is often need for mobility for this on the underside of the sink are places of door furniture waste, which follow the man in his actions. Around the island there is the pantry, hidden by a scenic backdrop fabric, which, running, reveals the inside; also in this case the content is made visible through the activation of the switch glass. Access to the cookware is made easier thanks to the "column pots." At the center of the sliding cupboard there are plans for small and large appliances that allow the use without having to lift or without occupying the plan work. Under the plans there is the drawer for pans that come from cutting rooms. On the sides of the latter we find two removable vertical columns used to contain the pantry, dishes and glasses, which can be taken by both sides without going to disturb those working close to who's cooking. This project wants to respond to environmental problems with the use of less material and can, thanks to the possibility to disassemble the entire product during disposal. Essentia is customizable in all its parts due to different materials and finishes, pagoda making it unique pagoda object, and extremely functional staff that knows how to surprise and excite, becoming so, the stage of everyday pagoda life.
