One of logistics ppg improvement projects I've ever done is use truck seals. Although it looks simple in implementation of the seal, but it should be considered in detail the use of the seal system ppg in this truck.
Previously I've worked at companies and logistics service providers wearing seal truck as one of securing the goods during delivery. In its implementation I saw there was never a clear system in the use of the seal, so it just becomes a cost to the company without bringing any benefit. I try to share two examples of implementations of this writing the seal on his 2nd stark contrast ......
The second example I will discuss is an example of one implementation of the seals 'just' ppg run the system without a clear, example 2 is the implementation seal prepared comprehensively tested with analysis by management level before its implementation.
Seal as shown in the above figure is used when goods over the truck is complete and ready to be dispatched to the destination. Usually the person in charge ppg (dispatchers) will do the sealing on the truck and then dispatch trucks to the destination, the time out before ppg heading past the usual security seal will be checked and the seal number will be recorded.
Around the year 2010-2011 I worked ppg in one logistics company that has pretty good SOP and achieving high scores in external audit on the quality management process. I look at the implementation of the use of this seal is more 'sober' alone.
Process that looks sober is because the helper / assistant free drivers access the storage seal in the seal and take the desired amount. The seal is supposed to be a tool of control of the driver ppg and the assistant driver is precisely controlled by their full (read: driver and assistant driver itself), so that the number of carcasses of seals and seal out the back and record ppg number in the document dispatch only be accessories that there is no control of the leader / management.
When it is not my position with regard to operational dispatchers, but due to my previous company worked in logistics operation ppg and could also be in the team logistics development projects, so I know and understand correctly that truck seals are implemented in these companies are merely implementation of a 'modest', as part of operations do not have a clear SOP governing the use of the seal of this truck.
Project leader implementation of this seal itself directly coordinate with various parties including: Operational ppg dispatchers as a user of this seal if so implemented Vendor seal providers Feasibility study on benefit cost analysis data seal cases / events may be minimized by the presence of seals truck
In the end, the project leader conducted a presentation to the top management level, although it gets a lot of input and to have to revised several times anyway in the end use of the seal in the company was finally executed.
Of the above two examples-I can distinguish in the same project ppg (the use of seals truck) turns out to be run in a different way, which way to 2nd with careful ppg planning investment finally seal goes well and give effect to the security assurance of goods in in the truck.
Learning from the 2nd example above, I conclude that the seal with a small fee (maybe 1 pcs seal below Rp 5,000) can have positive impacts on the security of the goods on the truck with clear systems and procedures.
